Match 62 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans.

The Chennai Super Kings are currently ninth in the table with four wins and eight defeats from their twelve games. Their hopes of reaching the Playoffs were crushed courtesy of the Mumbai Indians as Chennai lost their match by five wickets. They displayed a poor performance with the bat and managed to put up just 97 runs on the board. In response, their bowlers displayed great fight until the end, but the total proved to be too small for the MI as they chased it down in the fifteenth over.

The Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are top of the table with nine wins and three defeats from their twelve games. They became the first team to qualify for the Playoffs in this year’s campaign as they defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by a thumping 62 runs. They will be looking to carry on their momentum into the Playoffs by clinching the two points available and gain huge confidence by defeating the Chennai Super Kings.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium is a paradise for the batters. However, the Chennai Super Kings displayed a poor performance with the bat in the previous game played at this venue, producing just 97 runs. That said, the pitch should offer good support to the batters, and with dew coming into play, I expect the team winning the toss to bowl first and be comfortable chasing the score, which has been the trend in this year’s campaign.

Batter to watch out forShubman Gill

Shubman Gill will be eyeing a return to the Indian T20I squad considering his fine run of form in this year’s campaign. He has scored 322 runs in his 12 games and has scored back-to-back fifties for the Titans in his previous two games. He is in top form and shall be among the run-getters at the Wankhede Stadium in Game 62.

Bowler to watch out forRashid Khan

Rashid Khan is one the best T20 bowlers in the world right now. Although he may not be a contender for the Purple Cap this year, he has been a threat to the batters with his variations and has lowered the run rate of the opposition by picking up vital breakthroughs when needed for his team. He has picked up 15 wickets so far and will be a threat to the CSK batters who have struggled against spin bowling this season. Be sure to have him in your fantasy team.

CSK vs GTFantasy XI

Wriddhiman Saha, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway (vc), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya (c), Moeen Ali, R Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, Dwayne Bravo, Mukesh Choudhary, Mohammed Shami

CSK vs GT – Match Prediction

The Gujarat Titans have displayed great consistency throughout this campaign, proving themselves to be one of the toughest teams to beat. I predict them to register yet another victory against the Chennai Super Kings and complete the double over them this year.
