Current Liga NOS champions Porto will be looking to be the dark horses for this season’s Champions League as they strive to retain their domestic league crown. We look at their sponsors for the season.

MAIN PARTNERS

Altice (MEO) – Lisbon-based mobile and fixed telecom service MEO first became a sponsor of Porto in 2011 when it acquired front-of-shirt sponsorship rights for the club’s home kits.
MEO is part of the Altice Portugal Group, which is the largest telecom service provider in Portugal. In January 2016, Altice capitalised on its pre-existing links with Porto to seal a mammoth deal worth €457.5 million (currently US$543.12 million).
As per the deal, since 1st July 2018, Altice holds broadcasting rights for Porto’s home matches in the league, as well as rights for the content of the club’s in-house channel, Porto Canal, until June 2028.
The deal also grants Altice front-of-shirt sponsorship rights for Porto’s matchday kits at least until June 2023, which sees the MEO logo retain its spot. However, Altice’s other companies have also featured on the front of Porto’s kits. Virtual Carrier Moche featured on Porto’s away kits for a few seasons. The Altice logo itself featured on the front of Porto’s kits during the 2018-19 season.

New Balance – Ice Hockey, lacrosse and football-based sports equipment manufacturer Warrior Sports replaced Nike as the official technical partner of Porto in 2014. A year later, in February 2015, Warrior’s parent company New Balance announced it was entering the football market which saw re-branding of all of Warrior’s football sponsorships with the New Balance insignia. Therefore, Porto’s jerseys feature the New Balance logo since the 2015-16 season.

The two parties last renewed their partnership in June 2018 that saw Super Bock provide added support to Porto’s handball, basketball, roller hockey and cycling teams via its water brand, Vitalis. This renewed deal runs until 2024.
