Kingly football kit deals signed in 2020

After a long and abrupt end to the 2019/2020 football season because of the global pandemic, the upcoming football season will bring a fresh dose of excitement. To shred all the sadness and tiredness away from last season, all the football clubs have finally revealed their new kits for the next season, which has all the fans brimming with excitement and passion for their teams.

While many of the clubs have stuck with their old sponsors, some clubs have decided to change their kit manufacturers to improve revenue, which will eventually help them maintain the balance of club wages and income profit. The millions of dollars received at the end of the season help the clubs in branding themselves and support wage bills.

Here are some of the clubs who decided to change their kit makers for the upcoming seasons:

Soccer Football kit sponsorship partnership deals signed in 2020 clubs Liverpool SportsKhabri newsLiverpool (England) – The 2019/2020 Premier League Champion, Liverpool, has signed a lucrative multi-year £80 million-a-year shirt deal with Nike after winning its legal dispute with former partners, New Balance, in October. With Nike offering 20% in royalties to Liverpool and its enormous merchandising and distribution capabilities, this deal will amount to a total of £100 million in the future, overcoming their rivals Manchester United’s deal with Adidas in 2015 (£98.7 million).

 

Soccer Football kit sponsorship partnership deals signed in 2020 clubs SportsKhabri news Real MadridReal Madrid (Spain) – La Liga Champion, Real Madrid, has signed a new deal with Adidas, which is almost five times worth their previous deal and has been estimated to be close to £1 Billion. The 2019/2020 Spanish champions would put their rivals Barcelona far behind them in this area and give Madridistas another fact to boast about to their rivals.

 

Soccer Football kit sponsorship partnership deals signed in 2020 clubs SportsKhabri news CelticsCeltics (Scotland) – Scottish champions Celtics have signed a new kit deal with the German company, Adidas, after parting ways with former partner, New Balance, who were their sponsors since 2015 after replacing Nike. This deal is said to be the biggest sporting deal in Scottish sports. Although the financial details are not yet disclosed, it will be a significant upgrade than the Celtic-New Balance deal worth £5 million per year.

 

Soccer Football kit sponsorship partnership deals signed in 2020 clubs SportsKhabri news RangersRangers (Scotland) – Rangers Football Club has signed a 5-year deal with Liverpool based sportswear company, Castore, worth £20 million. Castore beat Puma, Macron, and Umbro to the agreement and will be their kit sponsor till 2025. The Ibrox club broke off a three year deal with Hummel to sign with Castore, famous for sponsoring Scottish Tennis star Andy Murray. Rangers have also cut off ties with Sports Direct.

With merchandising and distribution competition rising amongst brands, Football clubs nowadays seek a sponsor that would help them extend their club’s growth to as many parts of the world as possible and provide the best possible sporting apparel for the season.  The impact of these deals on these clubs’ overall growth in the future will be apparent in months to come.
