Match 65 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Mumbai Indians and the SunRisers Hyderabad.
The Mumbai Indians are currently bottom of the table with three wins and nine defeats from their twelve games. They enjoyed a victory against the Chennai Super Kings in their previous encounter as they ended Chennai’s hopes of making the Playoffs. They bowled CSK out for just 97 and chased the target in 15 overs, displaying an all-round great performance. They will be looking to end their campaign on a high note by winning both their remaining games as well.
The SunRisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, are placed eight in the table with five wins and seven defeats from their twelve games. Having gone on a run of five back-to-back victories and a Playoff place well within sights, they have created their own downfall by losing five successive games and now find themselves well out of the Playoff spots. They need to win the remaining two games by huge margins and hope for results elsewhere to go their way if they are to make the Playoffs now. They suffered a defeat at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous encounter by a thumping 54-run margin. They need to bounce back now and can afford no more room for error.
The previous match played at the Wankhede stadium went completely in favour of the team bowling first as the Mumbai Indians bowled the Chennai Super Kings out for just 97. The stadium, in general, assists the batters. However, considering the track record and with dew in force, I expect the captain winning the toss to elect fielding first and be more comfortable with chasing.

Batter to watch out for: Tilak Verma
Tilak Verma has been a standout player in his maiden season for the Mumbai Indians by being a consistent player in the middle order for them. He has scored 368 runs in twelve games, averaging about 41 runs per game, which clearly demonstrates the future he holds for the franchise. He scored a 32-ball 34 in the last game, which was crucial in guiding Mumbai home in their game against the CSK. Given his consistent performances, be sure to have him in your fantasy team.
Bowler to watch out for: Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has been a solid performer and one of the best white-ball bowlers for Team India. He has had a rather average IPL campaign this year, though, as he has picked up just 11 wickets in his 12 games. However, with the T20I World Cup around the corner, he will be looking to end his season on a high note and pick up some vital wickets for his team. He is my bowler to watch out for in Game 65.
Ishan Kishan, Nicholas Pooran, TilakVarma, Abhishek Sharma (c), Rohit Sharma, Daniel Sams (vc), Washington Sundar, Aiden Markram, Jasprit Bumrah, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
The SunRisers Hyderabad will be desperate for a victory, whereas the Mumbai Indians will be looking to end their season on a high note. Both teams share a neck-to-neck record against each other, which makes this a tough call to make. However, considering the venue, Mumbai will be having their home support, and with an experience of having played their previous game here, I’m predicting them to emerge victorious in this clash.
