Olympique Lyonnais Sponsors 2021-22

Following are the companies and organisations that serve as sponsors and brand partners to Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais (OL) and enjoy a strong branding presence across their physical and digital assets.

PREMIUM PARTNERS

Adidas – The German sportswear giant is the official kit supplier to the Lyon-based club since the 2010-11 season. The two parties last renewed their partnership in July 2020 in a five-year agreement.
The Adidas partnership covers both the men’s and the women’s teams of OL’s football and basketball (LDLC ASVEL Basket) divisions, as well as their e-sports (LDLC-OL), 5-a-side and futsal (Centre du Five) setups.

 

Emirates – The Dubai-headquartered flag carrier airline of the UAE was announced as the new principal front-of-shirt sponsor for OL’s men’s team’s matchday and training kits in February 2020. Having kicked off with the start of the 2020-21 season, the deal is currently set to run until June 2025.
Emirates replaced South Korean carmaker Hyundai on the front of OL’s men’s kits, who had an agreement in place since 2012 which was reportedly worth €5m a year.
Apart from branding rights, the deal also includes for Emirates authorisation for hospitality, ticketing and marketing.

 

MAJOR PARTNERS

MG – MG is a British automobile brand owned by Shanghai-headquartered Chinese state-owned automotive design and manufacturing company, SAIC Motor.
The French division of the company, MG Motor France, was announced as a Major Partner and an official mobility partner of OL in June 2021, having signed a three-year deal that kicked off with the start of the 2021-22 season.
As per the deal, MG serves as the sleeve sponsor for OL’s matchday shirts. The club’s players and staff are also supplied with MG’s vehicles, in particular, MG Marvel R Electric and MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid. These new models are environmentally efficient and help the club achieve their sustainability goals by reducing overall carbon footprint.

 

Alila – The Lyon-headquartered French construction company is a Major Partner of OL since October 2016, serving as the back-of-matchday-shirt sponsor (below kit number) for their home and away kits as well as a Major Partner of their academy.

 

Teddy Smith – Currently a Major Partner of OL, the French fashion brand first signed on with the club as an Official Partner in September 2019. Teddy Smith serves as the official shorts sponsor for OL’s matchday kits.

Groupama (Groupe des Assurances Mutuelles Agricoles) – A long-time partner and already the title sponsor for their new training centre, Paris-headquartered French insurance group Groupama became the title sponsor of OL’s home ground, Parc Olympique Lyonnais (opened January 2016), in July 2017. The stadium is since known as Groupama Stadium.
The stadium naming rights deal between the two parties was last renewed in October 2020 in a two-year agreement.

OFFICIAL PARTNERS

Parions Sport – The French online betting platform is an Official Partner of OL since 2018. Apart from branding rights, the partnership sees Parions Sport offer OL’s fans betting opportunities right at Groupama Stadium along with a dedicated hospitality programme.
The two parties last renewed their partnership in August 2020 in a two-year agreement.

 

Boulanger – Associated with OL’s women’s team since 2015, the Lesquin-headquartered French retail brand joined the men’s team’s sponsorship portfolio as an Official Partner in July 2021 on a two-year deal.

 

Orange – The Paris-headquartered French telecom company has served as OL’s technological founding partner since 2016, a deal covering both the men’s and the women’s teams of the club, and has provided technological and digital communications-based solutions for their new home ground, Groupama Stadium.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNER

Veolia – Associated with the club for over a decade, the Aubervilliers-headquartered French water management, waste management and energy services provider currently serves as OL’s Official and Environmental Partner.
Veolia has worked with the club to implement several initiatives to help them achieve their sustainability goals. In June 2020, the two announced a two-year collaboration during which Veolia would implement a “carbon strategy” to assess OL’s carbon footprint in order to reduce the overall emission of greenhouse gases via the club’s operations. The deal was celebrated with a release of a co-branded shirt made out of 100% recycled material from the Rhône-Alpes region. Veolia also stated that it would provide the club’s players water bottles made out of recycled material.
Currently, Veolia also serves as the principal front-of-shirt sponsor for OL’s men’s team’s European outings.

 

OFFICIAL PROVIDERS

Intermarché – A long-time associate of OL, the Bondoufle-headquartered French general commercial supermarket brand currently serves the club as an Official Provider. Apart from branding rights, the two collaborate over several fan engagement initiatives.
In the past, Intermarché has also served as a Major Partner to the club and used to be the official back-of-shirt sponsor for their matchday kits.

 

Chapoutier (Maison M. Chapoutier) – Chapoutier is a is a winery and négociant business based in Tain-l’Hermitage.

 

Coca-Cola – The American beverages giant became an Official Provider of the club and a founding partner of their new home ground, Groupama Stadium, in March 2016, ahead of the 2016 Men’s Euros.
The deal sees Coca-Cola’s products made available at Groupama Stadium on matchdays. The two parties also collaborate over several fan engagement activities, with Coca-Cola also being a part of the club’s matchday mascot programme. In 2017, Coca-Cola launched limited-edition OL-branded bottles.

 

Pernod Ricard – Pernod Ricard is a French alcoholic beverages brand headquartered in Paris. It is known for its anise-flavoured pastis aperitifs.

 

Descours & Cabaud – Descours & Cabaud is a Lyon-based firm that operates in the industry and construction sectors.

 

McDonald’s  – All Lyon-based restaurants of the Chicago-headquartered American fast-food chain collectively serve as an Official Provider to OL since July 2015. Apart from branding rights, the deal sees McDonald’s offer the OL fans exclusive offers.
McDonald’s also serves as an Official Partner to OL’s women’s team and a Major Partner to the OL Academy.

 

Caisse d’Epargne – The Paris-headquartered French semi-cooperative banking group is a long-time Official Provider of the club. In 2015, the bank officially launched OL-branded Visa Classic and Visa Premier cards for its customers and OL’s fans. The two parties last renewed their partnership in June 2019 in a four-year agreement.

 

EA Sports – The Redwood City, California-based sports video games developer also serves as an Official Provider to the club. Ligue 1’s eSports tournament, called eLigue 1, is currently contested on FIFA.

Atlantic – Atlantic is a French heating, cooling, and ventilation systems expert headquartered in Bourg-la-Reine.

 

OFFICIAL RADIO

Radio Scoop – Radio Scoop is a French radio network headquartered in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or. Its Lyon-based division serves as the Official Radio to OL.

 

WATCHMAKER PARTNER

Maier – Maier is a Lyon-based retailer of high-end jewellery and timepieces. It serves as the official Watchmaker Partner to OL’s men’s team, as well as an Official Partner to their women’s team.
