December 30, 2021

Belgium and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been roped in by upcoming football video game Ultimate Football League’s (UFL) developer and publisher Strikerz Inc. as the game’s latest brand ambassador.

UFL, which aims to compete with the big guns like FIFA, has already roped in familiar football faces to gain popularity. Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino and Manchester City defender Oleksander Zinchenko have also been onboarded as UFL ambassadors.

The announcement of Lukaku was made on UFL’s Twitter handle, where the Belgian’s partnership was announced along with a small clip of an animated version of the striker.

Speaking about his new partnership, Lukaku stated:

UFL is amazing. I’ve been following the news around the game for quite some time, and I like their philosophy and approach to game development. I can’t wait to see what Strikerz Inc. will bring to gamers and football fans when it comes out.

The current list of clubs set to be licensed in UFL are: West Ham United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Sporting Lisbon, AS Monaco and Be?ikta? JK.

Developed by Strikerz Inc., UFL is a free-to-play football simulation video game whose gameplay will be revealed on January 27, 2022.
