Let’s look at the Match Predictions for IPL 2022 Match 30 – Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Match: Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Match 30, Monday 18 April 2022
Venue: Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai
Date and Time: 7:30 pm (IST)
Where to Watch: Star Sports Network | Disney+ Hotstar
Match 30 of the 2022 TATA Indian Premier League brings us live action from the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai for the clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders. Both teams have suffered defeats in their previous encounters and will be looking to bounce back.
The Rajasthan Royals lie fourth in the table with three wins and two defeats from the five games they have played so far. They are coming off the back of a defeat against the Gujarat Titans in their previous game. The Royals bowling fell short of restricting the Titans to a reasonable total as Hardik Pandya’s knock of 87 runs from 52 balls led Gujarat to a score of 192/4 wickets in their 20 overs. Jos Buttler was the only impressive batter in the RR batting order, but his 54 runs from 24 balls went in vain as the Royals lost the match by 37 runs. Rajasthan will be looking to put this game behind them and focus on their next encounter with the Kolkata Knight Riders, which may gain them two crucial points in order to move up the points table .
The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, lie sixth on the table with three wins and three defeats from their six played so far. The KKR will be looking back on their last two games in order to correct the mistakes that have cost them four crucial points. They suffered a huge defeat against the Delhi Capitals as they bowled the Knight Riders out for 171 runs, making them fall short of their target by 44 runs. Kolkata then displayed another unimpressive performance against the SunRisers Hyderabad, who chased down their target of 175 runs in 18 overs and won the game by 7 wickets. Shreyas Iyer and Co. will be looking to correct their mistakes and strengthen their bowling and batting lineups in order to get back on track with a victory against the maiden IPL Champions.
As the matches in IPL 2022 are taking place across only four stadiums, I expect the pitches to slow down as we progress on to the coming games. However, the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai is a ground which aids the batters due to its short boundaries and quick outfields. With the likes of Andre Russell, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson on show, I’m expecting a high-scoring game.

Batter to watch out for – Jos Buttler
If there has been one batter who has been consistent throughout the campaign for the RR, it’s Jos Buttler. He is the current Orange Cap holder with 272 runs and has displayed magnificent performances in each game he has played. Buttler managed to score 54 runs off just 24 balls in his previous game against the Gujarat Titans and is in great momentum ahead of the match against the KKR. Be sure to have him in your fantasy teams; you may opt for him in the captain’s position too.
Bowler to watch out for – Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal is having one of his best IPL campaigns so far as he is the current Purple Cap holder with 12 wickets. The ex-RCB spinner has an Economy of just 6.80 this season and will be on top form ahead of his next game. He displayed an average performance in his previous encounter against the GT, however, by picking up just 1 wicket and conceding 33 runs, though he can be expected to be well-prepared for his next encounter with the KKR as he knows the formidable batting lineup the Knight Riders possess. The Brabourne Stadium is not an easy wicket to bowl on, but with tons of T20 experience under his belt, Chahal will be the bowler to watch out for in Match 30.
RR vs KKR – Fantasy XI
Jos Buttler (c), Sanju Samson, Shimrom Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell (vc), Sunil Narine, Jimmy Neesham, Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, Pat Cummins
RR vs KKR – Match Prediction
Both the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals had unimpressive displays in their respective previous games. It is a tough call to make as the two are evenly balanced in terms of their batting and bowling lineups. However, with the likes of Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal in great form, I expect the Royals to edge past the Knight Riders in Match 30.
