Johannes Vetter, the man from Germany, currently sits on top of the ranking charts for the men’s Javelin Throw event. In terms of achievements, Vetter has secured a gold in the World Championship and has made it to three finals in the World Championship. However, the Olympic medal has so far slipped his grasp, something he will be looking to change. He boasts of a personal best of 97.76m, which is also the national record.

Jakub Vadlejch

The first of the two Czech athletes to find themselves on this list is Jakub Vadlejch. Vadlejch, unlike Vetter, has an Olympic silver to go along with his silver medal in the World Championship. Although the gold has evaded him thus far, Vadlejch holds an impressive personal best of 89.73m in the sport, which came in probably one of the most extreme pressure events — the Olympics.

Julian Weber

Julian Weber

Yet another German in the top three, Julian Weber holds the spot for the third-best Javelin Throw athlete at just 27 years of age. Medals have evaded the German, although he has successfully made it to a couple of Olympic finals and a World Championship final in his career. His personal best stands at 88.29m, which is quite impressive.

Neeraj Chopra

At only 24, Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian in ages to bring home an Olympic Gold from an athletics event. The Indian has also won the Asian Games gold to add to his impressive gold at Tokyo. Chopra’s personal best stands at 88.07m, a score that has proven more than good enough to take home prestigious honours in the most prestigious of tournaments.

Andrian Mardare

A relatively young athlete, at only 26, Mardare is currently the fifth-best Javelin Thrower. He is another man who has been starved of medals at the major tournaments, and he has been to just one Olympic final. His personal best stands at 86.66m, slightly shy of those who find themselves above him on this list.

Anderson Peters

Yet another 24-year-old who has impressed is Anderson Peters. The man from Grenada already has a World Championship gold medal and a Pan American Games gold medal to his name. His personal best stands at 87.31m — a number that one should not be surprised to see go up as the years roll by.

Marcin Krukowski

Marcin Krukowski

Marcin Krukowski, a Polish athlete, has been around a bit longer than some of the younger athletes on this list but has never been able to grab hold of the major honours. He has seen himself compete in two World Championship finals but has always been starved of a medal. However, his personal best stands at a whopping 89.55m, one of the highest numbers on this list.

Aliaksei Katkavets

Katkavets, one of the youngest athletes on this list, made to the Olympic final stage at the age of only 23. Given that he is relatively young, there is still time for Katkavets to compete for the major honours. Currently, his personal best stands at 86.05m, a number likely to improve in the coming years.

Vít?zslav Veselý
