Who will be able to attract the spotlight? – IPL Sponsor packages for 2020

With the IPL season now upon us, almost all of India is going to leave all their work every evening, grab their popcorn and enjoy some exhilarating and fast form of cricket. The fanbase of the Indian Premier League is a forever growing thing now as all the age groups – from toddlers to the old age want to have a piece of the action-packed cricket matches and just can’t get enough of it. The sponsors of the IPL experience great revenue profits during the season which is why the sponsor packages, are limited and the demand for them unstoppable. 

The IPL sponsor packages for this season on Star India have already been sold out. They will be the official broadcasters of the 2020 IPL in India. They have decided to hold 8-10% inventory for the IPL 2020 which will be sold independently at a premium of 15-20% near Diwali. With all the sponsor packages being already sold, the IPL 2020 now have 5 Co-presenting partners and 14 Associate Sponsors on board. 

Star have signed deals with Amazon, Byjus, Dream11, PhonePe, PolyCab, ITC, Coca Cola, Rummy Circle, AMFI, P&G, Kamla Pasand and various others as told by Star Sports CEO Gautam Thakar. Despite the challenges faced by the COVID-19 problem, IPL 2020 hasn’t had much of it as the flow of money and funds are still the way they were before. The online company Byju’s have been the biggest spender for the spots this year as they have done an on-air spending around the total of 150-160 crores this year. Beating this stat, the brand which will be most visible during this IPL season is Dream 11 who has spent almost 222 crores for the Title Sponsorship of IPL and another 125-130 crores on the deal with Star.

Disney Hotstar are the official Streaming partner for the IPL 2020 and have already stated amazing growth of interest in fans regarding the season’s start. The streaming partner has also signed around 15 brands for this edition of the league. The platform has got 11 associate sponsors on board including Acko General Insurance, Maruti Suzuki, Khata-Book, Flipkart, Swiggy, Ace23, HDFC Bank, Great Learning, MX Player, Kingfisher Calendar and Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).

Hotstar has also signed individual deals with Procter & Gamble, Kelloggs, Himalaya, Apple, Intel, JSW, Ikea, Jeep, Urban Company, Sleepwell, JBL, Visa, Mastercard, CarDekho and a few other brands for the advertising and integration around the live streaming of IPL matches.

Another familiar but new face added to the list of Co-presenters is the brand Vi (Vodafone Idea). Vodafone, which is already associated with the IPL since 2008 and getting massive attention because of the ZooZoo trend they started, now have a new look to them and will be looking to achieve great success along with the IPL 2020 over the two month period of this exciting tournament.
