Asia Cup 2025

Asia Cup 2025 | Match 3: Bangladesh vs Hong Kong | Preview and Predictions

The third game of the 2025 Asia Cup brings us a clash between Bangladesh and Hong Kong at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 11, 2025.

For the game, here are our preview and predictions.

Asia Cup 2025 | Match 3: BAN vs HK | 20:00 IST, September 11

This is again a tough encounter for Hong Kong, as they’ll be facing an in-form and confident Bangladesh team who have done well in recent T20 tournaments against the likes of Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. Their most recent win was the 2–0 T20I series against the Dutch, prior to which they beat both Pakistan and Sri Lanka 2–1 in separate bilateral T20I series as well.

Hong Kong, on the other hand, had a dismal start to their Asia Cup campaign with a huge loss against Afghanistan. Batting first, the Afghans racked up 188/6 in their 20 overs, with Sediqullah Atal (73* off 52) being the top scorer. Only Kinchit Shah turned up for the Hongkongers with decent bowling figures of 2/24.

In response, Hong Kong ended up with 94/9 in their 20 overs, with no batter barring Babar Hayat (39 off 43) putting up much of a fight. Gulbadin Naib was the pick of the bowlers for the Afghans, with 2/8 in three overs.

Based on their performance in the first game and their relative inexperience, this should be an easy win for the in-form Bangladesh. Hong Kong will try to do better than the opening encounter, but it’s once again a tall order for them.

Fantasy XI: Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hassan, Litton Das (c) (wk), Babar Hayat, Jaker Ali, Shamim Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, Kinchit Shah, Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed

Venue: Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi
Winners Prediction: Bangladesh
