Nerea Martí joins Campos Racing for F1 Academy

Spanish motor racing team Campos Racing, who compete in Formula 3, the GP2 series, the GP3 series and Auto GP among others, have announced young Spanish driver Nerea Martí as one of their drivers for the upcoming F1 Academy season.

21-year-old Martí, who took part in the junior category at the 2017 Spanish Championship, raced in the X30 Senior in 2019 before making her F4 Spain debut in 2019. She raced in the W Series in 2021 and 2022 before making the switch to F1 Academy this year.

Adrián Campos, Team Principal of Camps Racing, commented:

We are proud to have Nerea (Martí) for the first season of F1 Academy. She has regularly been one of the most competitive female drivers in the last seasons, I am sure we will manage to achieve strong results together. It’s exciting to have a driver from Valencia at a Valencian team and fighting for an international championship. Nerea has enjoyed the support of Formula de Campeones and the Circuit de Valencia Ricardo Tormo since she embarked on her single-seater career and we hope she will have their support to continue making progress at the highest international level.

Martí added:

I’m extremely happy joining Campos Racing for the very first season of F1 Academy. It provides an excellent new opportunity to continue taking steps forward in my racing career and I have no doubts that together I and Campos Racing will manage to meet all our goals.

F1 Academy is an all-female driver series and is set to have 15 drivers on the grid racing for the following teams: ART, Campos Racing, Carlin, MP Motorsport and PREMA Racing — all fielding three cars each. With an aim to develop the upcoming female drivers, the inaugural season of F1 Academy will have seven events with three races each, which means a total of 21 races and 15 days of testing.
