9. Kincsem

Kicsem was a Hungarian Thoroughbred racehorse who holds the record for the most undefeated races after she won all of her 54 races. She competed in various horse racing events in Hungary, France, England and Germany, during the period of 1876/79.

She used to compete against both female and male racehorses. During her astonishing career, she won 199,754.50 fl, which today is equivalent to around £5.6 million.

8. Winx

On the 8th spot, we have Winx, which is one of the greatest Australian-bred racehorses of all time. Between May 2015 and April 2019, she managed to win an astonishing 33 races in a row, including 25 Group 1s, which is a world record.

Overall, Winx has won 37 out of her total 42 starts. During her big career, she has brought in around £21 million. There were many bettors that were backing her during her races. 5. Black Caviar

Black Caviar is an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse champion who remained undefeated in all of his 25 races. He competed from 2009 up until 2013, bringing in a total of around £6.4 million in earnings.

It is worth noting that 60% of all of his races were Group 1s, which is a truly remarkable achievement. Some of his most remarkable wins include the MVRC Australia Stakes, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, and the VRC Lightning Stakes.

4. Kelso

Fourth on our list is another American Thoroughbred racehorse champion called Kelso. In his career, he has defeated more champions and Hall of Fame racehorses than any other in the sport. Out of the total 63 races, he managed to win 39 and ended up in second place in 12 of them.

During his career, Kelso has broken 10 track records. Some of his most notable wins took place in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, Gulfstream Park Handicap, and Washington D.C. International Stakes.

3. Secretariat

Secretariat, also known as Big Red, was an American Thoroughbred champion who is considered by many the greatest horse of all time. He has set and still holds the record for the fastest time in all three races in the American Triple Crown.

The Big Red has managed to win in 16 of his 21 starts during his career. He also topped a total of £1 million in winnings.

2. Citation

In the second place, we’ve put Citation, an American Thoroughbred horseracing champion, which is known as the eighth winner of the American Triple Crown. He managed to win 32 out of 45 starts, 16 of which were in a row.

Citation was the first horse to bring in $1 million (around £810,000) in career earnings. He won many honours during his career including the 1948 American Horse of the Year.

1. Man o’ War

Our pick for the best racehorse of all time is Man o’War, an American Thoroughbred racehorse that competed during 1919/20. He has won 20 out of his total 21 starts and won around £200,000, which in today’s money is somewhere around $2.7 million.

Although Man o’War didn’t have the opportunity to win the American Triple Crown, he won many other prestige races like Preakness and Belmont Stakes, Jockey Club Gold Cup, Keene Memorial Stakes, and many others.
