Red Bull confirm Hadjar return for Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026

Red Bull Racing has announced that their driver Isack Hadjar will be returning to the team for this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026. Hadjar suffered a wrist injury during the summer break and missed the Dutch Grand Prix 2026, Italian Grand Prix 2026 and Spanish Grand Prix 2026.

With Hadjar missing the races, Red Bull brought in Liam Lawson to race beside Max Verstappen for the three races. Lawson finished seventh and sixth in Dutch and Spanish races while having a non-scoring outing in Italy with a 14th place finish. While Lawson stood in for Hadjar, moving away from his team, Racing Bulls, Lawson was replaced by Yuki Tsunoda at Racing Bulls. Tsunoda delivered a points finish for Racing Bulls in Italy with a 10th place finish while finishing 11th and 14th in Netherlands and Spain respectively. 

Lawson, raced for Red Bull for a couple of races during the Formula One 2025 season before being demoted to the Racing Bulls. He was replaced by Yuki Tsunoda before Red Bull signed Hadjar as their second driver before the start of the Formula One 2026 season.
