WPL 2025 | Match 12: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants | Preview and Predictions

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play the Gujarat Giants in Match 12 of the 2025 Women’s Premier League season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Having lost their respective previous encounters, both teams will be looking to make amends with a win here. For the game, here are our preview and predictions.

WPL 2025 | Match 12: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants | 19:30 IST, February 27

The RCB played the UP Warriorz in a thrilling encounter in their previous match, which ended up being the first-ever WPL game to be decided by a Super Over.

The defending champions had put up a decent score of 180/6, with top scores of 90* (56) from Ellyse Perry and 57 (41) from Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

In response, the Warriorz looked like they might fall short, but a late blitz from Sophie Ecclestone (31 off 19) levelled the scores in the end. Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers for the Royal Challengers with figures of 3/27. In the Super Over, the Warriorz only managed to score 8/1, but Ecclestone led the way with the ball as well and gave away just four runs to win the match for her side.

On the other hand, the Giants lost a fairly one-sided encounter to the Delhi Capitals in their previous match. Batting first, the Giants’ batters could only manage 127/9, with Bharti Fulmali being the lone warrior, scoring 40* (29). Shikha Pandey and Marizanne Kapp took two wickets each for the Capitals.

In response, the DC chased the total down with 4.5 overs to spare, losing four wickets in the process. Jess Jonassen and Shafali Verma were the top scorers for them with 61* (32) and 44 (27), respectively. Kashvi Gautam was the best bowler for the Giants with figures of 2/26.

While both these teams struggled in their previous games, the RCB have more firepower in batting and bowling as compared to the Giants, who have been unable to find the right balance. Also, Ellyse Perry has been in exceptional form for the RCB and could make merry against a relatively-inexperienced Giants bowling attack.

Fantasy XI: Beth Mooney (wk), Smriti Mandhana (c), Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Deandra Dottin, Richa Ghosh, Georgia Wareham, Sneh Rana, Renuka Singh Thakur, Kim Garth

Winners Prediction: Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Venue: M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
