Ampverse signals its eSports intentions after diving into the Indian market

Ampverse is on a mission after entering the Indian esports market by acquiring 7Sea Esports.

The Southeast Asian esports firm is trying to accelerate its expansion plans. Landing 7Sea Esports is a coup, and it is the fourth team Ampverse have taken over since the company was launched two years ago.

Ampverse already has SBTC Esports and Bacon Time as part of their portfolio, and it is clear they have big plans for the future.

This multi-million dollar investment shows the strength of Ampverse, and it prides itself as being a different breed of esports company.

Overall, the Indian esports market is steady, and a glance at the 2021 figures, makes for promising reading. By 2025, the Indian esports industry is expected to triple in value, and this is expected to create further opportunities for tournaments and the way leagues are managed.

Up-and-coming eSports organisations are trying to separate themselves from the rest by trying to distinguish themselves as a different breed of eSports company. India, for example, has teams that are competing more in League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments.

Esports has experienced significant growth in the past few years, thanks in part due to streaming platforms such as Twitch. The likes of Fortnite have pulled in millions of viewers, and its popularity is undeniable.

But it’s not just India where eSports is experiencing a surge in growth. All over the world, there are countries where eSports has quickly established itself as a popular betting avenue, and there will be markets available for all kinds of events, such as LoL and CS:GO. This is certainly the case when it comes to eSports betting in Australia. At trusted sites, such as PalmerBet and Unibet, you will be able to bet in- play, and at other sites, such as bet365, you can stream matches through their streaming portals.

As far as Ampverse is concerned, its desire to enter a new market at this time should be commended.

Speaking about the importance of the deal with 7Sea Esports, Ampverse CEO Ferdinand Gutierrez said: “India has always been part of our growth plan and it is a very exciting opportunity for us given the rapid acceleration of esports.

“We look for teams with a track record of success. Most importantly, we look for founders who are truly passionate about creating iconic esports organisations that drive unprecedented engagement with their fans and the market.

“7Sea checks all those boxes and now it’s all about executing the blueprint and growing all aspects of the franchise.”

Research has shown that India holds the title of being the world’s largest gaming market. In the case of Ampverse, they have focussed on scaling and monetising portfolios of eSports teams to make them more profitable.

The acquisition of 7Sea Esports adds yet another feather to the Ampverse cap, and it bodes well for the future. Ampverse is on the right trajectory, but more importantly, it puts India on the eSports map, and it will be fascinating to see how the country progresses.
