An interview with Pickleball United CEO, Pranav Kohli

On behalf of SportsKhabri, I recently sat down to chat with the founder of Pickleball United, Pranav Kohli, who shared his experiences with the sport and the plans for his company.

The sport of pickleball seems to have gained popularity not only in India but worldwide in recent times. When quizzed about the reason behind its growth, Kohli pins it down to the simplicity and inclusivity the sport offers, believing the game can be played by people of all ages and genders while deeming it a fairly easy skill to pick up. The prospect of playing against similarly-ranked players also sets pickleball apart from other racket sports.

Kohli also discusses his journey into pickleball, which only began a few years ago, addressing the reasons for establishing his company, Pickleball United, which provides equipment for the sport. He talks about the partnerships his company has entered into, and the ranking system currently adopted worldwide.

Kohli also shares experience regarding the response Indian pickleball tournaments have received, while highlighting the importance of growing the sport in the coming years. Another key factor he addresses in the interview is the importance of making pickleball equipment financially attainable so as to be able to draw more participation from the general public.
