Australian Open extends Kia partnership

Kia Corporation has announced a partnership extension with the Australian Open, which will see the former remain as the Major Partner of the tournament till 2028.

The extension of the partnership was announced at an official vehicle handover ceremony at the Federation Square in Melbourne, where Kia Global Ambassador and tennis legend Rafael Nadal was present. The event saw Kia present the tournament officials with a fleet of 130 vehicles, which included the Carnival MPV, the Sorento SUV, the Sportage SUV, and the fully electric EV6 crossover.

The partnership will see Kia provide the players, officials and VIPs with its vehicles for transportation. Kia has also stated that the partnership extension will highlight the company’s vision and commitment to sustainable mobility.

Artur Martins, Head of Kia’s Global Brand and Customer Experience, said:

The Australian Open 2023 marks a special moment in Kia’s long standing relationship with the tournament, as we delightedly announce the renewal of our partnership for another five years until 2028. The event provides the perfect global showcase for Kia’s corporate vision of becoming a sustainable mobility solutions provider.
