BLAST gets new partners for final CS:GO Major

Global spirit brands Absolut Vodka, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky and Jameson Irish Whiskey have joined as partners of the final Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Major, which is being organised by BLAST and is scheduled to be held in Paris in May 2023.

The agreement between BLAST and Absolut Vodka and Jameson Irish is the first for the spirit brands in the field of esports. Through the partnership, the brands will work on exclusive content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes and untold stories of the players. The brands will also sponsor the Overtime Show and will work on engaging fan experiences at the tournament, fan-led watch party activations in multiple markets, digital branding, broadcast content integration to BLAST.tv’s 100+ global territory reach and social giveaways.

Oliver Clarke, Commercial Director at BLAST, commented:

We are delighted to have Absolut, Ballantine’s and Jameson onboard for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, their first large-scale, collective esports partnership. We look forward to working together to deliver unique content, digital integrations and activations to the global gaming community at one of the world’s most revered and popular esports events.

Tom Elton, Ballantine’s Global Head of Culture & Partnerships, on behalf of Absolut, Ballantine’s and Jameson, said:

Our brands are all about the shared moments in life and with esports at the centre of new communities across the globe, we are delighted to announce Absolut, Ballantine’s, and Jameson’s partnership with the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. This year marks the 10-year celebration and final ever CS:GO Majors. With online gaming continuing to grow in popularity, we’re also thrilled that this championship will take place in Pernod Ricard’s home country of France.

The Paris Major is set to be the final CS:GO Major, as Counter-Strike 2 will be launching post the event. The Major will celebrate ten years of Counter-Strike Majors and have a whopping £1.25m prize pool.

The 2023 BLAST Major held in Paris will be one of the many sporting events that will be held in France over the next couple of years, including the 2023 Rugby World Cup, the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the 2025 Rugby League World Cup.
