Cricket Australia expands Gravity Media agreement

Cricket Australia (CA) has expanded its partnership with global provider of complex live creative production and media services Gravity Media, further building upon the existing broadcast and technology partnership between the two parties.

The new expanded deal will see Gravity Media work with CA to broadcast 22 matches of the Marsh One Day Cup, 35 matches of the Women’s Big Bash League, the Women’s National Cricket League Final, the Sheffield Shield Final, the Australia A v West Indies tour match in November and the GGXI v Pakistan Women’s match in January next year.

Gravity Media and CA first partnered back in 2017, kicking off their partnership with the coverage of the WBBL season at the time. Since then, the partnership has grown and expanded in many folds.

Dan Allan, Content Manager Broadcast at Cricket Australia, commented:

Over the past five seasons, Gravity Media have proved themselves to be an integral part of the Australian Summer of Cricket. The Gravity team have overseen the growth of WBBL to a full-season television broadcast product and delivered ever-increasing quality across all our domestic competitions. Cricket’s standing as Australia’s favourite sport owes a lot to the knowledge and dedication Gravity have demonstrated throughout, and we look forward to continuing our partnership into the future.

Nigel Naseby, Business Development Manager at Gravity Media Australia, added:

All of us at Gravity Media Australia value our close working partnership with Cricket Australia. It is a significant technological and production crew commitment for Gravity Media across this summer. Working closely with Cricket Australia, we will continue to evolve and develop our all-screens coverage including the introduction of new broadcast technologies designed to deliver Cricket Australia and its broadcast partners a seamless and compelling coverage of cricket across the coming months.
