Faker extends T1 contract for a further three-years

League of Legends star Lee ‘Faker‘ Sang-hyeok has signed a three-year extension with South Korean esports organisation T1. The extension will see Lee remain with T1 until at least 2025.

Faker, who signed for T1 in 2013, has been one of the team’s most crucial and decorated members over the years and has brought much success to them, including three League of Legends World Championships (2013, 2015 and 2016) and two Mid-Season Invitational tournaments as well as the 2016 IEM World Championship. Faker, who is the team’s mid-laner, is often regarded as the game’s finest ever player.

Following T1’s League of Legends Worlds 2022 loss in the finals, there were reports that Faker would part ways with team and move to FlyQuest or Team Liquid, but those rumours have now been put to bed.

The announcement about Faker re-signing with T1 was done through the South Korean team’s Twitter handle, where they shared a post announcing extension of his contract with the team.

With his future secured, Faker will now look for the elusive fourth World Championship. After narrowly missing out this year, the 26-year-old has his goals set.
