North American esports and gaming organisation FaZe Clan have announced a new partnership with streaming platform Hulu, which will see them team up with Hulu’s animated TV show Solar Opposites Fortnite to host a brand new Fortnite tournament in July 2022.
The tournament, which will be called the “Solar Opposites FaZe Elite Cup”, will have a total prize pool of US$50,000 and will see both professional and amateur Fortnite players in North America come together to participate. The tournament will have an open qualifier, and the best-qualified players will advance to the grand finals. The tournament will have both multiplayer and solo tournaments taking place together, with the solo tournament having a prize pool of US$10,000, while the multiplayer will have a US$40,000 prize pool. FaZe Clan will also host various activations and giveaways for the audiences as part of the marketing activities for the tournament.
The qualifiers will be held on July 1, 2022, while the Solo tournament finals will be held on the following day, on July 2. The multiplayer or duos finals will be held on July 3.
