The Italian Football Federation will launch $ITA Fan Token as part of the deal.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has inked a new partnership with blockchain provider Chiliz, which will see the governing body launch the $ITA Fan Token on the fan engagement and rewards app, Socios.com.
The partnership will see the FIGC use the resources generated from the collaboration to “develop the entire movement”, which will focus on the basic sports facilities in the country, as the country’s football governing body aims to improve training facilities across Italy.
The partnership will also allow fans to play against each other on the Socios.com app, participate in competitions, quizzes as they compete in global leaderboards, which will help them earn digital club-related rewards, benefits and experiences.
Chiliz will also become the title sponsor of the Women’s Italian Cup for the next two years.

“It’s also another important step in continuing the development project of Italian football, because it will allow us to invest into new resources at a grassroots level. The partnership will allow us to support the development of youth football and the entire movement, from the base to the top of the pyramid.”

The FIGC becomes the third national football federation to partner with Socios.com after those of Argentina (AFA) and Portugal (FPF).
