FIFA and Roblox partner to create “FIFA World”

A few weeks out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, online gaming platform Roblox has signed an agreement with FIFA. Through this collaboration, the open-world Roblox game will feature “FIFA World.” The FIFA community will be able to experience the theme park for free.

Some of the FIFA partners, including Adidas and Visa, will also have branding at the FIFA World theme park. In the virtual world of FIFA, players will be able to meet virtual soccer stars and receive rewards through football-themed games.

The permanent virtual environment will also include football stars from the famous game such as Spanish midfielder Pedri and German midfielder Lena Oberdorf. This element is aimed at attracting more football fans and increase in-game engagement.

Commenting on the partnership, Romy Gai, FIFA Chief Business Officer, said:

“FIFA’s immersive experience on Roblox will provide football fans with a hugely exciting new way to interact with friends, celebrate the rich culture and heritage around the world’s biggest sports competition, and demonstrate their creativity and national pride through various features and mechanics.”

Christina Wootton, Robalox’s Vice President of Global Partnerships, said:

“We believe discovering and enjoying events together with friends from all over the globe is a unique experience that often can’t be replicated in the physical world.”

Pedri, FC Barcelona and Spain senior men’s national team midfielder, added:

“It’s incredibly exciting to see FIFA and Roblox come together, and I can’t wait to be a part of FIFA World as it continues to evolve.

“The football fans I see in the stands every week love gaming and it’s great to be taking the FIFA World Cup to them in the digital space and interacting with them directly in our Roblox world.”
