Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 | India vs Pakistan | Preview and Predictions

With two wins from two games, India are in red-hot form and look to head into the play-offs with a flawless record. Up next, they have arch-rivals Pakistan waiting for them in a blockbuster Group A encounter at the 2026 Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

India have won four out of the last five T20I encounters against Pakistan and will be looking to extend that run, while the Women in Green will be aiming to set the record straight and make sure this iconic rivalry doesn’t become even more one-sided.

India’s batting continued to struggle against Hong Kong as the middle order once again failed to capitalise on a good start. Barring Smriti Mandhana’s ton, it was another disappointing performance from the Women in Blue with the bat.

Mandhana (124 off 64) laid the foundation for a big score for India, with Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Richa Ghosh, and Harmanpreet Kaur all chipping in. While Mandhana was the chief wrecker, the rest only got some time in the middle. Against a much more potent bowling unit, India will need to make sure that their middle order gets going instead of the top three having to do most of the scoring again.

With the ball, India’s spinners had a field day against Hong Kong. The spin trio of Shree Charani, Deepti Sharma, and Prema Rawat picked up a combined seven wickets. Kranti Gaud continues to be economical with the new ball at the top, while Nandani Sharma continues to impress as Gaud’s partner with the new ball.

India’s bowling unit has delivered in both games, and they will now be up against a team whose batters should test them properly for the first time in this tournament, making it even more imperative for the team’s middle-order batters to step up.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have also had a below-average start with the bat in the tournament, with Muneeba Ali being the only batter to have got runs against Thailand. Both their top and middle orders struggled against the Thai spinners; against a more potent spin attack of India, the Pakistani batters will have to apply themselves better.

With the ball, Pakistan’s spinners made use of the supportive conditions, with the likes of Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan all having had a strong start to the tournament. With captain Fatima Sana leading the attack from the front with the new ball, their experienced bowling unit should cause some trouble to an Indian batting order struggling for form.

The Dubai strip has shown that, while it helps the slower bowlers, there are still runs on offer for batters once they get settled.

Both these teams come into this game with their batting units struggling and relying on their bowlers to get them over the line. Both teams also have strong spin attacks, which will be key in this clash.

We believe India hold a slight advantage thanks to a more experienced batting order and their superior head-to-head record.
