FIFA Club World Cup 2025 | Group G: Juventus vs Manchester City | Preview and Predictions

This massive Group G encounter of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be played between Italian giants Juventus FC and the 2023/24 Premier League champions Manchester City on June 27th at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Here’s our preview and prediction for the Group G match between Juventus and Manchester City at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 | Group G: Juventus FC vs Manchester City FC | 00:30 IST, June 27

With both Juventus and Man City winning both their other group encounters, both teams have qualified for the Round of 16 and hence this result will only decide who they face in the knockout rounds though Juventus hold a slight advantage due to a better goal difference.

Juventus played their last group game against Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca which they won 4-1. Kenan Y?ld?z has been Juventus’ star performer at the Club World Cup so far and he scored a brace in this game too. He was unlucky not to have claimed a hat-trick as Wydad defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil scored an own goal for the opener. The 20-year-old Turkey forward doubled Juventus’s lead with a ferocious strike from the edge of the box into the top right corner. Wydad did cut the deficit with Thembinkosi Lorch who lobbed the ball into the net over Michele Di Gregorio.

Juve restored their two-goal lead with Y?ld?z scoring from close-range. Dusan Vlahovic also added his name on the scoresheet with a stoppage-time penalty kick as Juve confirmed their place in the Round of 16 with this emphatic win.

Manchester City endured a dismal Premier League campaign but coming into the Club World Cup, they hit the ground running with two wins out of two and qualified for the knockout rounds with ease.

In their previous group stage game, Man City played UAE Pro League team Al Ain. City annihilated the Abu Dhabi based team 6-0 with Ilkay Gündo?an scoring twice for the Citizens, while Erling Haaland, Oscar Bobb, Claudio Echeverri and summer signing Rayan Cherki also got their names on the scoresheet. Echeverri though might not be available for this game, having suffered an injury during the game.

As for the head-to-head stats, City has never defeated Juve in any competitive meeting with the most recent encounter played in December 2024, which the Old Lady won 2-0.

Juve need to only draw the game to progress on a better goal difference while City need to win this if they want to avoid Real Madrid in the Round of 16. While Juve have been in top form in this Club World Cup so far, we assess that City with the likes of Haaland, Omar Marmoush, Phil Foden and Cherki has the firepower upfront to beat the Italian giants. Their backline has also looked solid having not conceded a goal so far.

Though this one is very difficult to call, I think City will beat Juve this time around but it’s going to be a tightly contested affair.

Score Prediction: Juventus FC 1-2 Manchester City

Venue: Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida
