FSG sells minority stake in Liverpool FC to consortium featuring Amit Bhatia and Jeff Bezos

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has announced the sale of a minority equity stake in Liverpool Football Club to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led and managed by Amit Bhatia, with investments from Bhatia and the Mittal Family Trusts, K5 Sports (a K5 Global Fund with Jeff Bezos as the lead investor), and EE Capital, the family office of Elaine and Eduardo Saverin.

As per the announcement, the consortium partners will work with FSG to evaluate opportunities to enhance Liverpool FC’s objectives on and off the pitch.

Amit Bhatia is a British-Indian businessman who was the owner and director of Queens Park Rangers Football Club between 2007 and 2026. Bhatia is also the son-in-law of steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. Eduardo Saverin, meanwhile, is a Brazilian entrepreneur and co-founder of Facebook.
