Ghana national football team sponsors 2022

This article contains information regarding the organisations enjoying a strong branding presence across the Ghana men’s and/or women’s national football teams’ physical and digital assets as sponsors and partners of the Ghana Football Association.

Puma

The German sportswear brand has been the official kit sponsor of the Ghana national football teams since 2005. As per its deal with the GFA, Puma provides matchday kits, training apparel and equipment to all of Ghana’s national teams.

Puma extended its partnership with the GFA in 2015.

Nasco

Electronics distributor Nasco became an official partner of the GFA in 2017. The two parties signed an initial agreement wherein Nasco would act as the official man of the match sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.

Intercity STC Coaches

The intercity travel company has a deal in place with the GFA to provide its services for match officials.

Decathlon

The France-based sports company and the GFA signed an agreement in 2020, the former becoming an official sponsor of the latter. The agreement’s term is for four years, during which Decathlon is to provide sports equipment to the GFA.

Zaz Produkte

German manufacturer Zaz Produkte signed on to supply the GFA with referee kits in 2020. The term of the agreement is for three years.

Baker Tilly

The Ghana-based accountancy and consulting firm was on-boarded by the GFA to become its official auditor in 2020.

Star Times

The leading digital operator in Africa is the official media rights partner of the GFA. The deal between the two parties was signed in 2017, making Star Times the owner of media rights for ten years. The deal allows Star Times to broadcast several GFA-sanctioned tournaments.

Visit Ghana

Visit Ghana, the official tourism website of Ghana, is also listed as an official partner of the GFA on its official website.

In 2020, the GFA, in collaboration with Visit Ghana, launched the #BringBackTheLove campaign which was aimed at repositioning the GFA in the minds of fans in the nation.

Betway

The global online bookmaker signed a deal with the GFA earlier this year to become its official sponsor. Betway is also recognised as a developmental partner of football in Ghana. The focus of the deal, however, is to improve the standards of the women’s league in Ghana.

Mara

Pan-African digital finance system Mara is also an official sponsor of the GFA. Signed in September 2022, the deal is aimed at helping viewers and fans gain access to digital assets that are available in the football community.

betPawa

Online sports betting company betPawa was on-boarded as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League by the GFA in August 2022.

Malta Guinness

An African non-alcoholic drinks brand, Malta Guinness signed on to be an official partner of the GFA in August 2022. The three-year deal grants the headlines sponsorship of the Women’s Premier League to Malta Guinness.

KGL Group

The KGL Foundation, based in Ghana, signed an agreement with the GFA to become its official sponsor in 2021. As per the five-year agreement, the group sponsors youth football in the country.

Woodin

Clothing brand Woodin signed a deal with the GFA in 2021 to become one of its official sponsors. The deal is currently set to run until the end of 2022.

As part of the deal, Woodin provides the GFA with customised office wear such as polo shirts, caps, jackets and joggers.

Flora Tissues

Delta Papers owned brand Flora Tissues is also an official sponsor of the GFA. The deal between the company and the GFA was signed in September 2022. The partnership will last for one year and is reportedly worth GH¢1.5m.

The deal entails the two parties engaging in product and event sponsorship.

MTN

The Ghanaian telecom group renewed its partnership with the GFA in 2021, with the two parties having first partnered in 2010 (renewed agreements followed in 2013 and 2017).

The latest extension, a three-year agreement reportedly worth GH¢4m, entails MTN serving as title sponsor to the Ghanaian FA Cup as well as providing the GFA with the Man of the Matchaward for Ghanaian FA Cup matches.

Access

Banking group Access, headquartered in Accra, signed a deal with the GFA to become its official sponsor in September 2022. As per the deal, the bank is to reportedly invest US$250,000 in the Division One League for a period of one year.

Access has also gained the headline rights for the league, with the 48 clubs in the tournament mandated to open an account with the bank.

Zeepay

Fintech company Zeepay signed a deal with the GFA in September 2022 to become its official fintech sponsor. The deal will last for a period of one year and is reportedly worth GH¢500,000.
