ICC Women's World Cup 2025

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 | Match 26: Australia vs South Africa | Preview and Prediction

Australia and South Africa have been two of the best teams in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and both teams face each other in a fight for the top spot in what is expected to be a fierce battle in Match Number 26 of the Women’s World Cup.

Here is the preview and prediction for the game.

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 | Match 26: Australia vs South Africa | 15:00, October 25

Australia have dominated the tournament with ridiculous ease and they have not even been in third gear in most of the games they have played. Yet they are sitting pretty at the top and show time and again why they are such a cheat code of a side when it comes to Women’s Cricket.

They showed it in the game against England again that no matter how tricky the situation they find themselves in, they always find a way in manner that is now etching close to inevitability every game. They were 4 down in the powerplay chasing 245, and yet they ended up winning that game rather comfortably courtesy a match-winning partnership between Ash Gardner and Tahlia McGrath.

They will also be welcoming regular skipper Alyssa Healy back into the fold after she missed the England game due to a minor calf strain, adding even more strength to an absurdly deep side. The only concern would probably be McGrath’s lack of contributions with the bat, but with the rest of the batters more than ably contributing to the scoreboard, even that is not a pressing concern.

Alyssa Healy is the third-highest run scorer in this world cup with 294 runs, while Annabel Sutherland leads the bowling charts with 15 scalps to her name. Expect both of them to add to their tally against South Africa.

South Africa have bounced back rather spectacularly after their opening-day embarrassment against England that saw them be shot to smithereens while batting. They have well and truly buried that memory and have grown from strength to strength, having evolved and adapted to every situation on a game-by-game basis, and that has what has made them a very formidable unit this tournament.

Tazmin Brits’ failures have been compensated by some breath-taking power-hitting by Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk, while skipper Laura Wolwaardt has been the reliable presence up the order. Their bowling has also been one of the most consistent in the competition, and they will look to continue the same against Australia.

Both teams are on a roll, and both are playing some really good cricket, but if we had to choose one, it has to be Australia, They are just too good and in irrepressible form at the moment, and while South Africa are no slouches either, hard to bet against the reigning champions in this instance.

Fantasy 11: Alyssa Healy (wk), Laura Wolwaardt, Ellyse Perry, Marizanne Kapp ( c ), Chloe Tryon, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Nadine de Klerk, Alana King, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Kim Garth.

Venue: Holkar Stadium, Indore.

Winners Prediction: Australia.
