ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Match 15 Preview and Predictions

Match 15 of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will feature a crucial Group A encounter between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

It’s vital for New Zealand to win this match to boost their chances of moving into the Semi-finals, while Sri Lanka are almost out of the World Cup and would like to go out with a win.

Ahead of the game, here are our preview and predictions.

Women’s T20 WC 2024 Match 15: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka I 15:30 IST, October 12

After their disappointing loss against Australia, the White Ferns will be looking to make amends against a dismal Sri Lankan side. New Zealand lost to Australia by a massive 60-run margin, and with India’s emphatic win against Sri Lanka, they need to be mindful of the net run rate (NRR) as well.

On the other hand, the Sri Lankan batting has left a lot to be desired, the top order in particular having been abysmal. With one foot out of the competition, Sri Lanka will want to bow out of the tournament with a win to take forward a bit of confidence.

However, considering their recent form, New Zealand look more likely to pull a win here, especially if they can navigate the wily Sri Lankan spin attack.

Fantasy XI

Georgia Plimmer, Chamari Athapaththu, Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine (c), Leigh Kasparek, Izzy Gaze (wk), Kavisha Dilhari, Jess Kerr, Lea Tahuhu, Sugandika Kumari

Venue: Sharjah
Winners Prediction: New Zealand
