IPL 2026 | Match 13: RR vs MI | Preview and Predictions

A high-flying Rajasthan Royals take on the mighty Mumbai Indians in the 13th game of the Indian Premier League 2026 season with Riyan Parag’s boys sitting pretty at the top of the table with two wins from as many games while Mumbai will be looking to get back to winning ways after stumbling in Delhi.

Here is the preview and prediction for match 13 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians.

Indian Premier League 2026 | Match 13: Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians | 19:30 IST, April 7th

Not only does Rajasthan Royals  have two wins but also they are two wins that has seen the Royals have two solid performances with both the bat and ball. The Royals were stellar with the bat and ball against Chennai Super Kings in their first game before their bowlers dug them out of a hole against the Gujarat Titans. With the bat, it has been the young gun Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who has been setting the platform early on and has been ably supported by his senior partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who himself has had two decent outings. Dhruv Jurel at no.3 played a match-winning innings against the Gujarat Titans and while the top three look in good touch, the middle order would be the only cause of concern for Riyan Parag and the management. Parag himself threw his wicket away against the Titans and it triggered a mini-collapse although there is plenty of firepower and experience in the middle order with the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Ravindra Jadeja.

Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger have been leading the attack with the new ball but it is Rajasthan’s slower bowlers who have picked up the bulk of the wickets. Ravi Bishnoi is their leading wicket-taker with Ravindra Jadeja playing the perfect second fiddle, being economical and chipping in with the wickets when needed. The Royals have experience in the likes of Sandeep Sharma while Tushar Deshpande’s incredible death bowling will be something the Royals management will take as a big positive.

The Mumbai Indians come into their third game on the back of an uncharacteristic loss to Delhi Capitals where their star-studded batting unit failed to get going. Ryank Rickleton had an off day while Rohit Sharma couldn’t really get going either. The Mumbai Indians top order failed but the biggest positive they will take away from their loss in the previous game will be that of Suryakumar Yadav getting runs under his belt. Mumbai missed their captain Hardik Pandya (who missed out due to illness) and Pandya’s absence was felt in the death as they lacked a finisher. Should Pandya return, Mumbai will not only find balance but also depth to their batting unit. Despite having an off day in their previous game, the Mumbai team have plenty of firepower and experience in their batting lineup and should expect them to bounce back hard.

Like with the bat, the bowlers also had an average outing with Jasprit Bumrah going wicket-less, even though he was economical. The biggest takeaways for Mumbai from their previous game will be adding Mitchell Santner to their lineup, which provides balance to the squad and along with Pandya, both will make up a well-balanced squad for the five-time champions. Deepak Chahar has been reliable with the new ball and Pandya will hope for more of the same while Mayank Markande also had a strong outing after an expensive spell against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which would do his confidence a world of good.

The match will be Rajasthan Royals’ second home game which will once again take place in Guwahati which provided something for the bowlers in the opening game between the Royals and Chennai Super Kings. The ball does grip a bit at the Barsapara which will bring in the spinners into play and despite losing their previous game, the Mumbai Indians team is just too good to not bounce back and get back to winning ways.

Fantasy XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ryan Rickelton (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja (vc), Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Bishnoi, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger

Venue: Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

Winners Prediction: Mumbai Indians
