The runners up from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be looking to go one step further this season and Shreyas Iyer’s boys will start their IPL 2026 campaign against the star-studded Gujarat Titans (GT) who themselves are looking for another title after their title winning season in their debut IPL season.
Here is the preview and prediction for match 4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
Shubman Gill will be at the helm of the Gujarat Titans once again and the Indian Test captain has something to prove after a disappointing T20 World Cup snub. Gill will be in charge of a well balanced Titans team with a strong batting lineup consisting of himself, Jos Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, Glenn Philips, Tom Banton and Shahrukh Khan. Gujarat Titans have some handy all-rounders in Washington Sundar and Jason Holder, both of whom will be key for the Titans, with Sundar also set to support Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore in the spin department. The seam attack will consist of international bowlers such as Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma and Luke Wood, who will round out a well-oiled unit for the Titans.
After falling short in the final hurdle, Shreyas Iyer’s will be leading the Punjab squad once again. Iyer will be key to the Punjab batting lineup with the likes of Priyansh Arya, Prabhsmiran Singh, Nehal Wadhera making up a crucial Indian batting unit with the Indian core set to shoulder most of the responsibility. Marcus Stoinis will be the key all-rounder along with Marcos Jansen. Jansen will be key with the ball as well along with Arshdeep Singh and the veteran Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Punjab don’t have an explosive squad like some of the other teams and a lot will depend on their international stars.
The New Chandigarh hasn’t seen a lot of action but it has been a high-scoring ground and two explosive batting lineups means we should be in for high-scoring with the well-balanced Gujarat Titans starting as favourites.
