Lando Norris extends McLaren Mastercard F1 Team contract through 2030

Reigning Formula One champion Lando Norris has signed a contract extension deal with McLaren Racing and will thus remain with McLaren Mastercard Formula One Team until the end of the 2030 F1 season.

The multi-year extension will see Norris’ journey with McLaren cross the decade mark, with the British driver having joined the team back in 2017 as a member of their junior programme.

Norris made his F1 debut during the 2019 season with McLaren and has been with the team since. It took him six years to get his first win in Formula One, which arrived at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. The following season, he beat teammate Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen to pick up his first Drivers’ title.

With Norris’ extension, McLaren have their driver line-up locked in for the foreseeable future, with Piastri having signed his contract extension deal in March last year.

To celebrate his contract extension, McLaren have gifted Norris an MCL39, which he raced during his title-winning season last year.

I can’t wait to get back in the car in Monza, and I’m very excited about what the future holds for us, both over the rest of this season, and in the coming years.”
