Lando Norris extends McLaren contract

Reigning Formula One champion Lando Norris has recently signed a contract extension with McLaren Racing, which will see Norris be a part of the McLaren Formula One team until the end of 2030. The multi-year extension will see Norris’ journey with McLaren cross a decade with the British driver first joining McLaren back in 2017 as a member of their junior programme.

Norris made his Formula One debut during the 2019 season with McLaren and has been with the team since. It took him six years to get his first win in Formula One which came at the Miami Grand Prix 2024 and the following season, Norris beat teammate Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen to pick up his first Drivers’ Title in 2025. With Norris signing a partnership extension, McLaren have their driver line-up locked in as Piastri had signed a contract extension in March 2025. The contract extension with McLaren also sees the team gift Norris a MCL39 which was his race car during the Formula One 2025 season.
