The seventy-fifth season of the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2020–21 is set to tip-off on December 22. Due to the 2019 pandemic, the regular season has been reduced to seventy-two games. The playoffs are scheduled to run under the standard sixteen-team playoff format between May 22 and July 22, 2021. Let us look at the jersey sponsor for each of the thirty teams in the NBA 2020-21.
Atlanta Hawks – Sharecare, an Atlanta-based digital health company, signed a partnership deal with the Atlanta Hawks for five years in 2017. The team is wearing an advertising patch on their uniforms for three years. For the 2017-18 season, the duo received the NBA Partnership of the Year award for delivering the best partner-driven campaign.
Boston Celtics – Vistaprint, an online printing services company, replaced General Electric this year to become the Boston Celtics’ jersey sponsor.
Brooklyn Nets – Motorola, Inc., an American multinational telecommunications company, replaced Infor to become Brooklyn Nets’ jersey sponsor this year.
Charlotte Hornets – LendingTree, an online lending marketplace headquartered in the United States, signed a partnership deal with the Charlotte Hornets in 2017 to become the team’s jersey patch sponsors. In January this year, the team extended the partnership for three years to keep the company as its jersey advertiser.
Chicago Bulls – Zenni Optical signed a five-year partnership deal in 2018 that made the leading online eyewear company the first jersey patch sponsor of the Chicago Bulls.
Cleveland Cavaliers – Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is the jersey partner of the Cavaliers.
Dallas Mavericks – Chime, an online financial services company, signed a multi-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks this year. They are the team’s jersey patch partners.
Denver Nuggets – Western Union, a financial service company headquartered in Denver is associated with the Denver Nuggets since 2017. They are the team’s first jersey patch partners.
Detroit Pistons – Flagstar Bank signed a partnership deal with the Detroit Pistons in 2017 to become the team’s jersey ad sponsor.
Golden State Warriors – Rakuten, Inc., a Japanese B2B e-commerce platform and coupon purveyor, is the official jersey patch partner of the Golden State Warriors. In addition to the jersey patch, Rakuten is also the official affiliate marketing partner, the official e-commerce partner, and the team’s official video-on-demand partner. The company also has the rights to the team’s practice facility.
Housten Rockets – ROKiT Phone signed a multi-year deal with the Housten Rockets to become the jersey partner in 2018. The agreement also included naming rights for Toyota Center Lounges.
Indiana Pacers – Motorola Solutions, Inc., a Midwest-based mobile communications company, signed a multi-year partnership in 2018 with Indiana Pacers that made the company the team’s first-ever jersey patch partner.
L.A. Clippers – Honey Science Corp., a subsidiary of PayPal, operates a browser extension that aggregates and automatically applies online coupons on eCommerce websites, replaced Bumble to become L.A. Clippers’ jersey patch sponsor this year.
L.A. Lakers – Wish Shopping is the Lakers’ official jersey partner since 2017. The e-commerce company spent more than $30 million for three years on the team’s jerseys.
Memphis Grizzlies – FedEx, a multinational delivery services company, became the Memphis Grizzlies’ first-ever jersey sponsor in August 2018.
Miami Heat – Ultimate Software was the team’s jersey sponsor from 2017-2020 before the company merged with the Kronos Group in April 2020 to officially become Ultimate Kronos Group.
Milwaukee Bucks – Harley-Davidson, Inc. is the jersey sponsor of the Milwaukee Bucks since 2017. The company also launched a limited-edition merchandise collaboration with the team last year.
Minnesota Timberwolves – Minnesota Timberwolves does not have a jersey patch sponsor this year. Fitbit, the leading global wearables brand, had signed a three-year partnership with the team in 2017. The company was its jersey patch partner till last season.
New Orleans Pelicans – Ibotta, an American mobile technology company, replaced Zatarain this year to become New Orleans Pelicans’ jersey sponsor.
New York Knicks – Squarespace is the jersey patch partner of the Knicks since 2017.
Oklahoma City Thunder- Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, a convenience store, is the OKC’s official jersey patch partner since 2019.
Orlando Magic – Walt Disney is the official jersey partner of the Orlando Magic since 2017.
Philadelphia 76ers- Stub Hub became the official jersey patch partner of the Sixers in 2016.
Phoenix Suns – PayPal signed a multi-year global partnership with the Phoenix Suns in 2018 to become the team’s first jersey patch partner.
Portland Trail Blazers – Performance Health’s Biofreeze brand signed a multi-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2018. Biofreeze, an external pain relief product, is the first uniform- patch sponsor of the team.
Sacramento Kings – Sacramento Kings do not have a jersey patch partner this year. Blue Diamond Growers, a California agricultural cooperative and marketing organization specializing in almonds, had signed a three-year partnership deal with the Sacramento Kings in 2017 to become its jersey patch sponsor till 2020.
San Antonio Spurs – Frost Bank and the Spurs have been associated since 1973. The bank became the first jersey sponsor of the team in 2018.
Toronto Raptors – Sun Life Financial became the Raptors’ first jersey patch partner in 2017.
Utah Jazz – 5ForTheFight is the jersey patch partner of the Utah Jazz.
Washington Wizards – Geico, a government employees insurance company, signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Washington Wizards in November 2018 to become the first-ever jersey sponsor.
