NEYMAR OFFICIALLY SIGNS PUMA DEAL

Neymar has now officially signed with German sportswear giant Puma. Last week, Puma tweeted “Welcome to the fam @neymarjr #KingIsBack” from their official Twitter account.

While both Neymar and Puma have refrained from giving further details about the deal, estimates suggest Neymar’s earnings for the year to be around $95.5 million, endorsements included.

Neymar’s Puma announcement has not arrived at a pleasant time for the Brazilian superstar. He had been isolating over the last week after testing positive for COVID-19 while on vacation in Ibiza. In fact, even his promotional photos for the announcement had to be taken at his house, while he was in quarantine.

Puma has further befuddled the enthusiasts by accessorising Neymar with their KING Platinum series, which is not only an older version but also not very popular to begin with, instead of the newer, more cherished Ultra 1.1 series. While this can be chalked off as an attempt to revive an otherwise relatively unsuccessful range, it makes for a discussion, nonetheless.

Neymar would have hoped for a better debut in his Puma shoes than the controversial 1-0 defeat his PSG side suffered against Olympique de Marseille last night in Le Classique which also saw him sent off at the end. Watch this space for more updates on the Neymar-Puma alliance.
