McDonald’s

Fast-food chain McDonald’s and the Portland Trail Blazers have enjoyed a longstanding relationship that began back in 2013, when the two teamed up for the “100-Point Play” promotion.

McDonald’s offers fans inside Moda Center, the Trail Blazers’ home ground, free McDonald’s Sausage McMuffin with Egg each time the Trail Blazers scored 100 or more points in an NBA match.

The two parties have continued their relationship ever since, with McDonald’s enjoying brand visibility across the social media platforms and other digital assets of the Trail Blazers.

Michelob Ultra

Anheuser-Busch InBev, a multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium, is also an official Trail Blazers sponsor.

Through this partnership, the brewing company’s light beer Michelob Ultra enjoys visibility across the Trail Blazers’ social media platforms.

Moda Health

The Blazers began their relationship with health insurance provider Moda Health in late 2013, when the two parties decided to rename the team’s home to “Moda Center” for a period of ten years. At the time, it was reported that the deal was worth US$40 million.

As part of the deal, Moda also got access to the Trail Blazers’ television, radio, and digital advertising inventory.

Sprite

The Trail Blazers and Sprite have partnered with each other since 2012, when the two parties came together to donate US$20,000 to Portland Parks & Recreation to redo the rims, backboards, benches, and playing surfaces throughout the city.

As per the deal, Sprite enjoys brand visibility by featuring across the team’s social media channels and other digital assets.

First Tech

The Trail Blazers and First Tech Federal Credit Union announced their multi-year partnership agreement in 2017.

As per the deal, First Tech gains brand visibility by appearing through signage inside Moda Center, while also being present on broadcasts and social media assets of the Trail Blazers.

The two have also co-produced Trail Blazers-themed Tech Federal Credit Union affinity cards.

Root Sports

The Trail Blazers announced a four-year partnership agreement with Root Sports Northwest in 2021, roping it in to broadcast their NBA matches after deciding to cut ties with NBC Sports Northwest following a 14-year partnership.

The Trail Blazers’ current broadcast deal with Root Sports will conclude after the 2024/25 NBA season.

Rebound Orthopedics

Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery has served as the official team physician to the Portland Trail Blazers since 1994 and continues to help their athletes remain fit throughout the NBA season.

Xfinity

Comcast Xfinity has a media partnership agreement in place with the Trail Blazers. This agreement has been in place since 2016.

Alaska Airlines

The Trail Blazers announced in January 2023 that they had decided to expand their partnership with Alaska Airlines.

As part of the deal, the Trail Blazers promote “The Trail” docuseries, which is made available in-flight. The two parties also collaborate on social media campaigns.

NICWA

The National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA), a 40-year-old non-profit organisation headquartered in Portland, is the community partner of the Trail Blazers.

The two parties come together for various community benefit activations in accordance with the agreement.

The NICWA in April 2024 is due to host 1,800 tribal children as part of its annual conference to educate tribal communities on the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Calm

Meditation app Calm signed on as a corporate sponsor of the Trail Blazers in February 2021.

The rationale behind the sponsorship is to associate Calm with stressful in-game moments. The partnership includes digital and social assets as well as some traditional marketing inventory, which includes in-arena signage and TV logo pop-ups. Localised versions of Calm’s “Do Nothing” TV campaign are also part of the agreement.

Verizon

The telecommunication industry giant has its 5G spread across 60 NBA arenas, having in place multi-year agreements with 15 NBA franchises, including the Portland Trail Blazers.

Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network enables the franchises to provide their fans with more immersive experiences and allows their arenas to use next-gen solutions for operational purposes around public safety, access, concessions, and crowd management.

Pamplin Pilots

Pamplin School of Business and the Trail Blazers announced the commencement of their partnership in April 2023.

The partnership entails supporting the team and provide internships and employment opportunities to Pamplin’s business students.

UBCO

Oregon-based UBCO, a manufacturer of adventure electric bikes, signed a partnership agreement with the Trail Blazers in December 2022.

The partnership is aimed at promoting emission-free commuting. With initiatives that started in 2023, UBCO ensures to spread the message of enjoying adventure in a sustainable and responsible manner. The two parties also work on in-arena activations, engagements, and special offers for Trail Blazers ticket holders.

The deal also entails the two parties working on UBCO’s first-ever experience-driven flagship hub, where guests can learn more about off-road adventure bikes.

Socios.com

In February 2022, Socios.com, an all-in-one crypto-based influence and sports rewards platform, announced a multi-platform marketing partnership agreement with the Trail Blazers and the NBA.

This partnership entails the parties providing fans the opportunity to influence the soundtracks at Moda Center and choose the preferred songs they want to hear during NBA matches. Socios.com, in turn, gains brand visibility through in-arena and broadcast signage.

Eastside Distilling

In November 2021, Portland-based craft distillery Eastside Distilling signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Trail Blazers at Moda Center for the 2021–24 seasons, thus becoming their official spirits partner.

The deal entails brand and tasting experiences for Eastside to highlight its full premium whiskey line-up at the exclusive event-level Courtside Club and Sphere lounge at Moda Center.

The deal between the two parties also entails Eastside Distilling brand takeovers at two central bar locations: one as Presenting Partner of the Local Pour space on the main concourse, and another at the suite-level Bar 41. It also includes for Eastside the rights to use the Trail Blazers logo on point-of-sale items at retail as well as in bars and restaurants.
