Uruguayan footballer Ronald Araújo has been revealed as a brand ambassador for global fast-food brand Burger King in Uruguay, with the announcement made through a campaign film.
The film showcases a man in a yellow suit picking up a newspaper with the headline “Ronald signs with Burger King”. He reacts in a surprised manner, dressed like rival brand McDonald’s well-known clown mascot, although all shots of him are from the back, his face never shown.
As the mascot walks across the city, he gets to the event where Burger King is unveiling Araújo. As he’s about to turn to the cameras, the FC Barcelona defender comes in and pushes him out of the frame.
Ronald Araújo becomes the face of Burger King in Uruguay and will headline campaigns and advertisements for the brand in the country moving forward.
