Serie A teams up with Volkswagen

Serie A has announced a multi-year partnership with German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen.

Volkswagen thus becomes the first-ever Official Automotive Partner and a Technology Partner of the Italian top flight, gaining visibility across the league’s television broadcasts and official digital platforms.

On the partnership, Luigi De Siervo, CEO, Lega Serie A, said:

We are particularly pleased to welcome a global brand like Volkswagen among our partners. For the first time we will equip ourselves with an Automotive Partner, who will accompany us in the most prestigious matches and in the major events that we will hold in the coming seasons. This collaboration represents a further opportunity for commercial growth, continuing the development of our brand and confirming the attractiveness of Italian football at an international level, thanks to our ability to make the most of every moment of the match. Starting from this season, the Volkswagen brand, universally recognized for reliability and innovation, will also be the protagonist on an editorial level, associated in each match with television graphics dedicated to measuring the kilometers traveled on the pitch by footballers.

Andrea Alessi, Brand Manager, Volkswagen Italia, added:

This is a further, important step in our strategy of presence in the world of football. A very popular and loved sport, and which like Volkswagen promotes the values of teamwork, performance and innovation. This collaboration will allow us to increase our connection with millions of enthusiasts throughout Italy, transmitting to them our vision of a more sustainable future also through the world of sport.
