Former Indian cricket team captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has been announced as the brand ambassador of EdTech startup Classplus. As brand ambassador, Ganguly will endorse Classplus’ educators and content creators.
The announcement was made through Ganguly’s social media handles, where he released a video, announcing the same. In the ad, Ganguly can be heard saying:
“The first step towards achieving your dreams is having the right coach.“
Speaking about bringing Ganguly onboard, Mukul Rustagi, CEO and Co-Founder, Classplus, commented:
“Through this campaign we want to send across this message that we truly think of the thousands of educators and content creators associated with us, as our partners. That’s why Sourav Dada isn’t just our brand ambassador but theirs too. With Dada himself by their side, we hope to help these edupreneurs further grow their reach and take their business to newer heights.“
Ganguly teased his partnership with the brand a day before the actual announcement, stating that he would be starting something new. This had led to widespread speculation that the former Indian skipper would be stepping down from his BCCI post, but the situation was later clarified by Jay Shah, Secretary of the BCCI, and then Ganguly himself.
