Online gambling company to receive prominent branding.
Online gambling company Betway has been announced as the sponsor of the world’s oldest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournament, Stockholm Open. Betway joins as the tournament’s official betting partner.
The tournament, which gets underway from the sixth of November, has vowed to give Betway association rights and ‘prominent’ courtside branding. After being cancelled due to the COVID pandemic last year, this will be the first Stockholm Open in two years.
Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway, commented:
“It’s fantastic for the Betway brand to be associated with Stockholm Open.
“As the world’s oldest ATP indoor tournament, the event has a fantastic history and we’re thrilled to be their exclusive betting partner for the next three years.”
Kristoffer Svensson, Head of Stockholm Open, added:
“We are happy to welcome Betway to the Stockholm Open. Together with Betway and all our tennis fans we look forward to a week full of action and fantastic tennis.”
The deal with Stockholm Open further strengthens Betway’s portfolio of tennis partnerships, having recently signed a sponsorship deal with the European Tour. Betway also sponsored the ATP Mercedes Cup back in May 2021.
Currently, Betway also serves as the international betting partner of LaLiga champions Atlético Madrid, while also having deals with German football clubs such as VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt FC, Schalke 04, the South African national rugby team, and also the National Hockey League.
Betway, which is owned by Super Group, is due to merge with special purpose acquisition business Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp. The merger is set to take the business public on the New York Stock Exchange, with the equity valuation of the business estimated at US$4.75bn.
