The Global Chess League (GCL), a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and FIDE (International Chess Federation), has partnered with Google Cloud ahead of its third edition.
The partnership will aim to bring fans closer to GCL action with real-time player performance insights throughout the third season of the league, which is scheduled to be held from December 13–24 in India later this year.
As part of the deal, Tech Mahindra, in its capacity as the GCL title sponsor and innovation partner, will provide the league with AI- and ML-driven dashboards using Google Cloud technology to deliver real-time stats during matches. Additionally, Google Cloud Analytics will also be leveraged to enhance the league’s broadcasting.
On this collaboration, Peeyush Dubey, Chairperson, Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, commented:
“The Global Chess League has always aimed to push boundaries in both the gameplay and experience of chess. Each season, we strive to elevate the experience for fans and players by leveraging advanced digital technologies. Our partnership with Google Cloud embodies this vision, ensuring that Season 3 sets new standards for innovation in global sports.”
