Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (THFC), also known as Spurs, have announced an extension of their partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
As the North London club’s Official Hybrid Cloud and IT Enterprise Networking Partner, HPE will work on modernising the technology environment that powers the club’s home ground, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which will include ticketless entry, cashless payments, mobile applications, digital wayfinding, and high-density connectivity.
Additionally, HPE Services will help the club with the design, implementation, project management, and operational expertise “to accelerate deployment and time to value”, while HPE Managed Services will provide operational support “to help optimise performance and resilience” across the club’s IT infrastructure.
Rob Pickering, Chief Technology Officer, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commented:
“Our goal isn’t simply to refresh our infrastructure. It’s to build a simpler, more resilient technology environment that gives us the flexibility to innovate for years to come, streamline operations and support the Club’s long-term growth. By bringing together AI, hybrid cloud, networking, services, and financial solutions through a single strategic partner, HPE is helping us simplify operations so our teams can focus on supporting every part of the Stadium, from match days to third-party events and day-to-day operations, rather than managing technology. Ultimately, the best technology is invisible to our fans.”
Matt Harris, HPE Senior Vice President and Managing Director for UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa, added:
“Sport and entertainment venues are becoming increasingly connected and data-driven, and this partnership reflects a shared commitment to building the digital foundation required to support that evolution. Together, we’re helping Spurs build an AI-driven technology backbone that powers every aspect of the stadium, from critical operations behind the scenes to the digital experiences supporters enjoy on match days and beyond.”
HPE, a Spring, Texas–based American multinational enterprise and information technology company, was announced as Spurs’ Official IT Enterprise Networking Partner ahead of the construction of their new home ground in July 2017.
Over the course of their partnership, the two parties have sought to make Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the most technologically advanced venue for sports entertainment on the planet. The club have installed HPE-owned Aruba’s networking solutions, with support from the company’s Pointnext services organisation, to supplement their technological demands.
Before its split into HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in 2015, Hewlett-Packard had a prior association with Spurs as their principal sponsor for the 2013/14 season’s matchday kits worn in the Premier League, before it was replaced by AIA.
