Welsh Fire announce Admiral Group partnership

Welsh Fire of The Hundred have announced a partnership with Admiral Group, a British financial services company.

The two parties are set to work towards creating career opportunities for women and girls by connecting them with skills, networks, and career pathways in industries where women remain underrepresented. The partnership will see the two parties provide them with access to skills development workshops and events, helping the girls build confidence, employability skills, and career awareness, and delivering mentoring and networking opportunities, connecting women and girls with role models from sport and business.

Admiral will also leverage its motor repair supply chain, partner organisations, and wider business network to support greater female representation across multiple sectors.

Ed Rice, Commercial Director at Glamorgan Cricket, commented:

Women’s cricket has shown what can happen when organisations invest in opportunity, visibility and pathways for talent.

The challenges may be different, but there are clear parallels with the automotive industry. By bringing sport and business together, we can share ideas, learn from one another and help create environments where more women can succeed.

Michelle Leavesley, Chief Sustainability Officer at Admiral Group, said:

Through this partnership, we can learn from the growth of women’s cricket and apply those insights across our supply chain.

While cricket and garages may seem very different, we’ve identified similarities in areas such as recruitment, leadership and creating inclusive environments that are helping to shape future programmes.

Together, we want to help more women see a future in traditionally underrepresented careers, creating pathways into skills, employment and leadership that benefit individuals, businesses and communities for years to come.
