Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club have announced a partnership with Chinese broadcaster Migu, becoming the first Premier League club to establish a presence on GKer—Migu’s user-generated content (UGC) platform.
The partnership is aimed at growing Wolves’ digital presence in China. To that end, the two parties will work on several digital content and interactive fan engagement initiatives to connect with the club’s fan base in the region.
On the partnership, Russell Jones, General Manager for Marketing and Commercial Growth at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, said:
“China represents an important market in Wolves’ international strategy. We’re particularly delighted to partner with Migu and be the first Premier League club to launch an official account on this user-generated content platform. This initiative supports our ongoing commitment to developing our Chinese digital content reach and enhancing fan engagement through high quality content.”
Li Li, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Migu Video, added:
“The participation of Wolves enriches the sports content ecosystem of GKer and we look forward to collaborating with Wolves to explore more cutting-edge interactive formats to provide sports fans with a more vibrant, interactive viewing experience and richer Premier League club content.”
