WPL 2025 | Match 15: UP Warriorz vs Gujarat Giants | Preview and Predictions

Match 15 of the 2025 Women’s Premier League season will see the UP Warriorz and the Gujarat Giants face off at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on March 3.

For the game, here are our preview and predictions.

WPL 2025 | Match 15: UP Warriorz vs Gujarat Giants | 19:30 IST, March 3

After winning back-to-back games against the Delhi Capitals and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Warriorz were humbled by a clinical Mumbai Indians side in Match 11 at the Chinnaswamy. Apart from Grace Harris getting some much needed runs and a solid 33 from Dinesh Vrinda, there weren’t any positives to take home for the UPW.

The Gujarat Giants, on the other hand, are coming into this contest having beaten the RCB—that too quite comfortably—in Match 12. Captain Ashleigh Gardner led from the front, scoring 58 runs off 31 balls while bowling a tight spell of 22/1. The Indian duo of Kashvee Gautam and Tanuja Kanwar also bowled beautifully to restrict the defending champions to a modest score of 125/7.

These two sides last faced each other in Match 3 at the Kotambi Stadium, where the GG registered a comfortable six-wicket victory thanks to key contributions from Gardner (52 | 2/39), Deandra Dottin (33* | 2-34), and Priya Mishra (3/25).

Looking ahead to this game, the first at the Ekana Cricket Stadium this season, historical evidence shows the pitches tend to offer more assistance to the seamers while offering true value for the shot-makers. Moreover, it’s also not clear how much dew will come into play. Based on home advantage, we back the UP Warriorz to win this encounter.

Fantasy XI: Uma Chetry, Bharti Fulmali, Shweta Sehrawat, Dinesh Vrinda, Grace Harris (vc), Chinelle Henry, Ashleigh Gardner (c), Deandra Dottin, Kashvee Gautam, Tanuja Kanwar, Kranti Goud

Venue: Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow
Winners Prediction: UP Warriorz
