Match 9 of the 2025 Women’s Premier League season will see the Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on the UP Warriorz at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The reigning WPL champions will be vying for their first win at the Chinnaswamy against a spirited Warriorz side, who are coming into this contest on the back of a commanding victory against the Delhi Capitals. 

The RCB were on the verge of registering their third consecutive victory this season in their last game, with the lower-order batters on the crease for the Mumbai Indians and 22 runs to defend from the last two overs. However, Amanjot Kaur delivered the hammer blow with two mighty sixes off Kanika Ahuja’s 19th over to tun the tide in the MI’s favour. While batting, Ellyse Perry had shone with the bat in the first innings, scoring 81 runs off 43 balls, but there was very little support from the rest of the batters, which restricted the Royal Challengers to 167.

The UP Warriorz, on the other hand, were struggling at 89/6 at one point against the Capitals before Chinelle Henry’s explosive innings (62* off 23) catapulted their score to a competitive 177. In the second innings, despite playing on a green top, the UPW spinners were able to restrict the run flow in the Powerplay, with key contributions from Kranti Goud and Grace Harris—each taking four wickets—stopping the DC from chasing the target. 

Looking ahead to this fixture at the Chinnaswamy, the recent fixtures suggest the pitches are better for batters compared to the ones at Vadodara. With no dew in play, the team batting first will look to put up a good score and defend. We are backing the RCB to win this one.
