Alpine has announced a couple of major organisational changes to its Formula One team, which will see Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer leave the team on mutual terms following the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix.
It has also been announced that the current Alpine F1 Sporting Director, Alan Permane, will be leaving his role after the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix, ahead of the summer break. Their Chief Technical Officer, Pat Fry, is also set to leave with immediate effect.
Bruno Famin, the current Vice President of Alpine Motorsports, will take over the role of Interim Team Principal starting with the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, while current Alpine Academy Director Julian Rouse will hold the Sporting Director role for the time being. Matt Harman will lead the technical team, and both him and Rouse will be reporting to Famin.
Szafnauer joined the Alpine F1 team at the start of the 2022 F1 season, coming over from Aston Martin, but the results haven’t been satisfactory for the French team as they currently lie sixth in the Constructors’ Standings.
