Arsenal Football Club have signed a partnership extension agreement with Japanese multinational entertainment company KONAMI.
The extension will see KONAMI remain the Official Football Video Gaming Partner of the North London outfit. Martin Ødegaard, captain of the Arsenal men’s first team, will become a Club Ambassador for KONAMI’s football simulation video game series, eFootball (formerly Pro Evolution Soccer, or PES).
Arsenal will continue featuring in eFootball “as one of the core clubs”, while KONAMI will continue holding various commercial rights, including promotional access to Arsenal players and the use of official club branding and imagery.
Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer, Arsenal FC, said:
“We are incredibly proud of our longstanding partnership with KONAMI, and we’re excited to begin this next chapter of our journey together. The longevity of our partnership reinforces our shared values of innovation and progress, and we’re pleased to ensure Arsenal is a core part of the game for years to come.”
Shinji Namekawa, Konami Digital Entertainment BV’s European President, added:
“We are proud to be extending our partnership with such an iconic club. Arsenal Football Club represents excellence on and off the pitch, and we are excited to continue this journey together. Our commitment remains to continuously evolve and enhance eFootball™, and this continued partnership is a clear indicator of those efforts.”
