The fourth game of the 2025 Asia Cup brings us a clash between Pakistan and Oman at the Dubai International Stadium on September 12, 2025.
For the game, here are our preview and predictions.
Oman are a relatively inexperienced team; playing against a strong Pakistan side is going to be very challenging for them. While Pakistan played T20I series against Bangladesh recently, Oman participated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, which was a 50-over series. Oman have a line-up of inexperienced players, with captain Jatinder Singh as their main batter and Shakeel Ahmed leading the bowling attack.
As for Pakistan, we might be seeing some new faces. Fakhar Zaman has returned to the opening slot and could play alongside Saim Ayub. In the recent T20I series against Bangladesh, Pakistan’s batting was a little suspect, but their bowling attack worked well. Salman Mirza was the pick of the bowlers as he troubled the Bangladeshi batters in every game. Pakistan also possess a lethal pace attack comprising Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali.
Captained by Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan are one of the contenders for the Asia Cup trophy. With a well-balanced team, they’re not only looking to win this game, but go all the way.
Comparing the two teams, there is a wide gulf in quality and experience, and hence this could prove to be yet another one-sided encounter in the early stages of this tournament. If Pakistan win the toss and choose to bat, the Oman bowlers could be in for a long day.
Fantasy XI: Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Jatinder Singh, Sahibzada Farhan (wk), Hassan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha (c), Abrar Ahmed, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Shakeel Ahmed
Venue: Dubai International Stadium, Dubai
