FC Barcelona renew CUPRA deal

FC Barcelona have signed a partnership renewal agreement with vehicle manufacturer CUPRA, which will thus continue on as their Official Automotive and Mobility Partner as well as the Official Car until the end of the 2028/29 season.

The partnership, having kicked off in 2019, will see the two parties continue working towards nurturing young talent and moving towards electric mobility. The deal covers not only Barça’s football team but also their basketball, futsal, handball, and roller hockey setups.

The deal will also put the SEAT-owned carmaker’s branding on the right sleeve of the Barça men’s and women’s football teams’ matchday shirts during their respective summer tours and friendlies for the next three seasons.

Joan Laporta, President, FC Barcelona, said:

We are very happy to extend our agreement with CUPRA until 2029 and expand it to all professional sports at FC Barcelona. In recent years, Barça and CUPRA have formed an extraordinary team that is now being strengthened to face the future with a winning spirit. The world of sports and cars share the challenge of always chasing the horizon in search of success. From this conviction, we will work together in the coming years, with a young, leading, global and committed brand as CUPRA.

Wayne Griffiths, CEO, CUPRA, said:

At CUPRA we share the values of FC Barcelona, the largest club in the world. Both brands face their challenges with passion, we have the ambition to win and a global vocation to inspire the world from Barcelona. Our common commitment to the future and new generations has created a unique connection that we are very pleased to prolong. The renewal of our global partnership means we can continue challenging the status quo on the pitch and on the road, and reinforce our ambition to make CUPRA a truly global Spanish brand.
