As the current Premier League season has drawn to a close, we’ve seen a mix of storylines unfold—some players have maintained impressive consistency, a few unexpected names have exceeded expectations, while several top-class stars have failed to live up to their reputations.
The Top three FPL performers this season are Mohammed Salah with 344 points, Bryan Mbuemo with 236 points and Cole Palmer with 214 points so far.

Forwards
The Top 5 FPL assets in the forward position are –
1. Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) – 211 points
The Magpies’ marksman has been in phenomenal form this season, having scored 23 goals and bagged 6 assists in 34 games so far. He has been vital to Newcastle securing a top 5 finish and also one of the architects of ending their 70-year trophy drought as they won the League Cup this season.
Even though his transfer fee in the FPL was on the higher side at £9.4m, the Geordie forward has more than made up for it with the points accumulated for the teams he has featured in. He was selected by 49.4% FPL teams this season which is the highest for any forward player in the league.
2. Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) – 200 points
Chris Wood has been one of the surprise packages of this season. The tall Kiwi forward has been a major reason for Nottingham Forest ending inside the Top 8. Wood has scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 games this season.
Wood came at a decent transfer fee of £7.2m and is currently the fourth top scorer in the league this season. For those who trusted the lanky New Zealander must have scored major points.
3. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) – 186 points
Ollie Watkins is the third FPL top scoring forward in the list. The Villa forwards has shown spectacular form scoring 16 goals and bagging 8 assists in 38 PL games. He has been crucial to Villa getting so close to the CL qualification after a topsy-turvy season. Villa will play in the Europa League though.
Though he has been priced slightly high at £9.1m, keeping Watkins in your FPL team must have definitely fetched you big points.
4. Yoane Wissa (Brentford) – 175 points
Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has been part of one of the best front three in the league this season. Alongside Bryan Mbuemo and Kevin Schade, the DR Congo player has scored 19 goals and provided 4 assists in 35 games this season.
Priced at £6.9m, Wissa has been an absolute steal for those who trusted to keep him in their FPL teams.
5. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 181 points
With Manchester City not performing up to their usual high standards and Haaland was also out with an injury, the Norwegian forward has still been City’s best player. In 31 games, he has scored 22 goals and 3 assists. He has been the player City have relied on for scoring the bulk of the goals.
Priced at a really high £14.9m, he may have not performed as well as the previous seasons but the Manchester City forward is a massive FPL asset when he is in form.
Midfielders
The Top 5 FPL assets in the forward position are –
1.Mohammed Salah (Liverpool) – 332 points
PL winners Liverpool’s Egyptian King has been in exceptional form this season. Even though Salah is one of the top grossers in the FPL every season, his stats have been out of the world this season. The Egyptian winger has scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists in 38 games this season.
Even though Salah is one of the most high-priced players in the FPL with a value of £13.6m, he was selected by 66.3% of the FPL teams which is the highest for any player in the league as he rarely disappoints.
2.Bryan Mbuemo (Brentford) – 223 points
The Brentford winger Bryan Mbuemo has been a man on a mission this season, scoring 20 goals and bagging 7 assists in 38 games. The talented Cameroonian has been one of the reasons for Brentford being in the top half of the table and had a chance to get into European competition next season which they missed.
Priced at a decent £8.3m in FPL, the Brentford winger has been a brilliant option up top for all FPL enthusiasts who decided to take a punt on him.
3.Cole Palmer (Chelsea) – 211 points
Cole Palmer is another bankable player that most people keep in their FPL teams. The English midfielder started the season well but lost his form in the middle. He still managed to bag 15 goals and 8 assists in 37 games this season. Thanks to Palmer, Chelsea have secured Champions League football for next season.
The English midfielder is priced at a big £10.5m transfer fee in the PL but he has been worth the amount as he has been a really consistent performer in most gameweeks.
4.Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United) – 193 points
While the Hammers have had one of their worst seasons this year, it’s all thanks to their right winger and captain Jarrod Bowen that they have escaped relegation. Even without much support from his teammates, Bowen has scored 13 goals and bagged 8 assists in 34 games this season.
The England international is priced at a decent £7.8m and has been a great asset for the ones who kept him in their teams.
5.Luis Díaz (Liverpool) – 183 points
The Columbian winger has been a great presence on that left wing for Liverpool this season. Though Salah has taken most of the plaudits, Díaz has quietly had a superb season himself. Díaz has scored 13 goals and bagged 5 assists in 36 games.
The Columbian winger is priced at a decent £7.5m in FPL and has been a consistent performer for the ones who included him in their FPL teams.
Defenders
The Top 5 FPL assets in defensive position are –
1. Joško Gvardiol (Manchester City) – 153 points
Though Manchester City missed out on the PL and the CL title and also struggled massively this season, Joško Gvardiol at left-back has been one of their top performers. The Croatian full-back has scored 5 goals this season and managed 11 clean sheets as well.
Priced on the higher side for a defender at £6.5m, the City defender has been worth the transfer fee as he stands second in the top FPL assets amongst the defenders and was in 38.6% of the FPL teams which is the highest for a defender this season.
2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) – 148 points
The Liverpool right-back is top of the FPL charts in the defenders list.
Alexander-Arnold has been critical to Liverpool winning the league, scoring 3 goals and bagging 6 assists in 32 games this season. Along with the defensive line, he has also kept 13 clean sheets this season.
Priced on the higher side for a defender at £7.2m, the Liverpool right-back has been a consistent performer in the backline and gotten points for those that kept him in their FPL teams.
3. Nikola Milenkovi? (Nottingham Forest) – 145 points
Nottingham Forest’s new signing in defence, Nikola Milenkovi? has been quite a revelation this season. The Serbian defender has been critical to a resolute Forest backline, also scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists in 37 games this season. He also has 13 clean sheets to his name.
Priced at a reasonable £5.2m, the Forest defender has been an absolute bargain this season.
4. Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool) – 142 points
Liverpool’s captain and centre-back Virgil Van Dijk is one of the usual suspects in the list. The Dutch centre-back has been like a wall at the back for his side. Van Dijk has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 37 games this season. Van Dijk also has the highest number of clean sheets in the PL this season – 14 clean sheets.
Priced on the higher side for a defender at £6.7m, Liverpool’s Captain is a sure-shot option for getting your FPL team solid points every season.
5. Daniel Muñoz (Crystal Palace) – 142 points
Crystal Palace’s full-back Daniel Muñoz has been phenomenal on that right side of the defence this season. The Eagles’ fullback has been an absolute menace on that right wing scoring 4 goals and bagging 5 assists in 37 games this season. He has also kept 11 clean sheets this season.
Priced at a reasonable £5.2m, the Palace fullback has been great value for money for those that kept him in their FPL teams this season.
Goalkeepers
The Top 5 FPL assets in the goalkeeping position are –
1. Jordan Pickford (Everton) – 158 points
Everton’s savior time and time again, the England shot-stopper has been their best player even though the team has been underwhelming yet again. If not for Pickford’s exceptional goalkeeping, Everton could have been in danger of relegation. Pickford kept 11 clean sheets in 38 games this season with a save percentage of 73%.Pickford also has an assist to his name.
The Everton goalkeeper is priced at £5.2m and has been a consistent option between the sticks for FPL teams that trusted the England international.
2. Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest) – 150 points
Nottingham Forest’s unexpected position in the league table has also been due to the superb performances of their goalkeeper Matz Sels. Sels has also won the Golden Glove with 13 clean sheets in 38 games and had a save percentage of 73.9%.
Priced at a decent £5.2m, the Forest goalkeeper has surprised many and been a definite option for many FPL enthusiasts to have in their team this season.
3. David Raya (Arsenal) – 142 points
Last season’s golden glove winner David Raya has been consistent this season as well. Even though Arsenal fell off in the title-race, the Spanish goalkeeper has been excellent at the back. Raya has kept 13 clean sheets in 38 games,winning the Golden Glove for a second consecutive season. He has also conceded the least number of goals in the PL. Raya has a save percentage of 74.2% in the PL.
Priced at £5.5m, the Arsenal goalkeeper was in 32.6% of the FPL teams this season which is the highest for a goalkeeper.
4. Mark Flekken (Brentford) – 138 points
Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken has made a lot of saves this season, keeping his team in the first half of the table and the Bees were in with a chance of securing European football for a while this season. Flekken has kept 8 clean sheets in 37 games with a save percentage of 73.4% this season. He also has two assists to his name.
Priced at a low £4.5m, the Dutch goalkeeper has been solid at the back for the Bees and also for those shrewd FPL players who kept him in their FPL teams this season.
5. Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace) – 135 points
Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson is another shot-stopper in the top performing keepers list this season. The England second-choice goalkeeper has kept 11 clean sheets for the Eagles in 38 games this season with a save percentage of 66.7%.
Priced at a low £4.6m, the Palace goalkeeper has been consistent between the sticks, keeping Palace comfortable in the league table and also winning the FA Cup with them.
